A historic building on Oleniy Val Street will be restored, the project of work has already been approved by specialists from Moscow State Expertise, said the head of the department, Valery Leonov. After the repair is completed, the Sokolniki Children’s Youth Center will be located here.

The two-story house was built in 1913. Today it is an object of cultural heritage “The Ensemble of the Sokolniki Department of the City Work House and the House of Diligence, XIX – early XX centuries – a shelter named after Dr. F.P. Gaaz for juvenile detainees of the Workhouse and the House of Diligence, 1913, architect A.F. Meisner”.

“After carrying out the work, the project of which was approved by the experts of Moscow State Expertise, children and adolescents will be able to receive extracurricular extracurricular education at the youth center. The training will be devoted to artistic creativity and general humanitarian areas. According to the restoration project, the plaster layer of the facades and its coloring will be restored. Experts will select authentic colors. The lost elements of the decorative belt and glazed tile panels will be restored, forged peaks and balconies will be put in order, and the geometry of the roof with a metal seam coating will be recreated. According to historical samples with the preservation of geometry, pattern and details, the steps and platforms of the main staircase will be covered, as well as the fence will be restored.

Internal work will affect all rooms, the main staircase, metlakh tiles on the floor and the preserved Monier vaults will be restored. Wooden doors made according to preserved historical samples will be installed in all rooms.

Engineering systems will also be repaired. They will be led to the standards that a building used as a children’s center must meet.
