The literary and musical program “How to become happy” is dedicated to the International Day of Happiness based on the philosophical treatise of the Polish philosopher and writer Vladislav Tatarkevich “On the happiness and perfection of man”.

The author collected materials for twenty years, and in 1938 began writing a book about happiness. He wrote it even in the least favorable conditions for this, during the war and occupation, without losing optimism and faith in a happy future. Analyzing the evolution of the concept of happiness, the writer comes to its modern understanding, noting that happiness is associated not only with the possession of the highest good, but with a positive balance of life, that is, with the predominance of good over evil.

Host Alexander Kazantsev will introduce the audience to many known and unknown views of thinkers from different eras on two closely related problems: the problem of happiness and the problem of human perfection.

The program of the evening will feature music by Russian and Western European composers.
