A new production of medical test systems and a research laboratory will open at the Alabushevo site of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the spring of 2022. Now the enterprise is preparing the premises and importing equipment. There will be 200 jobs here.
Medical test systems, which will be produced at the enterprise, are focused on the market of Moscow and the regions. Part of the production is planned to be exported.
“The company will produce medical tests designed to detect a large number of infections and abnormalities in human health. Including 15 types of test systems for the presence of COVID-19. It is planned that the enterprise will produce about 12 million units of products per month,” said Deputy Moscow Mayor for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations
The total area of the new enterprise is 2.5 thousand square meters. Half of the territory is occupied by “clean rooms” with a laboratory, a production site for research, development and testing. The second half was assigned for labeling and packaging of finished products and auxiliary work.
“Currently, the “clean rooms” are being equipped. According to the company, the amount of investment in production equipment will be at least 400 million rubles,” said the head Department of investment and industrial policy of Moscow Alexander Prokhorov.
The company, which is opening a new production facility in Alabushev, was founded three years ago in the science city of Koltsovo, Novosibirsk Region. It specializes in the production of medical diagnostic kits and the development of new tests. The company recently received a patent for a test system based on immunochips that solves the problems of early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of many infectious diseases. The localization of production in the special economic zone of the capital will be a new stage of development for the company.
“The enterprise aims to obtain the status of a resident of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, which will open access to tax and customs preferences. In addition, being at the center of economic life, the company intends to expand its presence in the market of Russian regions and establish exports,” said Gennady Degtev, Director General of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ.
The Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone includes five sites with a total area of 223.3 hectares. One of them is located in Pechatniki and four more in Zelenograd – these are Alabushevo, Mikron, MIET and Angstrem.
Special support measures are provided for SEZ residents. For example, they are exempted from property, transport, land tax, customs duties. The income tax rate for them is only two percent. There are also benefits for the lease of land allocated for the construction of an enterprise, and upon its completion, it is possible to buy out a leased land plot for one percent of its cadastral value.
