The doctors of the center conducted more than 68,000 remote consultations.

The capacity of the telemedicine center to help pregnant women with coronavirus infection has been strengthened in the capital. This is necessary for its uninterrupted operation and the availability of remote consultations, said Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

“For a pregnant woman with COVID-19, the opportunity to get medical advice and, if necessary, help with diagnostic tests or emergency hospitalization is very important. After all, it is not only about her health, but also about the health of the unborn baby. In connection with the spread of omicron, we are doing everything necessary to ensure that such assistance for pregnant women remains timely and accessible. To do this, we have strengthened the staff of the obstetric remote advisory center. In total, since the beginning of his work, doctors have already conducted more than 68 thousand consultations, ”she said.

According to Anastasia Rakova, consultations are carried out by highly qualified specialists from the Family Planning and Reproduction Center and the N.V. Sklifosovsky.

The advisory center was created during the implementation new algorithms monitoring and treatment of pregnant women with COVID-19. For this, short-term hospitals were also opened at hospitals No. 15 named after O.M. Filatov and No. 52. In them, pregnant women do not intersect with other patients with coronavirus infection and receive all the necessary assistance.

The list of mandatory examinations and examinations in short-stay hospitals includes 14 items. Among them are instrumental and laboratory studies: cardiotocography, dopplerography of the veins of the lower extremities and low-dose computed tomography of the chest organs using X-ray protection or ultrasound of the lungs. If necessary, women are treated the most modern medicines from the group of monoclonal neutralizing antibodies and human immunoglobulin.

Specialists of the telemedicine center referred more than 1,500 patients for examinations to short-stay hospitals. Each of them was taken there in a special transport and then, depending on the indications and the results of the examinations, they were hospitalized or taken back home.

Algorithms for monitoring the treatment of pregnant women with COVID-19 have been developed by leading experts in Moscow. They are approved by the clinical committee of the city Department of Health. Doctors constantly monitor the patient’s condition so that, if necessary, they can immediately conduct examinations and prescribe the necessary treatment. Based on the results of the examinations, they decide whether to continue home observation or hospitalization. Most patients with COVID-19 have a mild form. However, it is timely hospitalization and therapy that can reduce the risks of worsening the situation.

Telemedicine consultations are possible thanks to a single digital platform of the capital’s healthcare. It was developed and is being developed by the complex of social development of Moscow and Department of Information Technology.
