Marat Khusnullin spoke about the progress of work on the construction of a section of the M-12 highway, carried out as part of the second stage of work taking place on the territory of the Vladimir Region. He said that today work is underway at the interchanges of the future high-speed road with the M-7 Volga (at km 91) and R-132 Golden Ring highways. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, it is planned to launch the labor movement on 17 out of 37 km of the second stage of construction in the fourth quarter of 2022. “This will allow switching part of the traffic from the southern bypass of Vladimir and unloading the road network of the Vladimir region as a whole. It is important for us that during the construction of the M-12 highway, citizens feel the positive effect of the commissioning of each of its sections as soon as possible,” he said.

Three stages of the construction of the 219.4 km long route pass through the territory of the Vladimir Region, and work has been launched throughout their entire length: subgrade construction is underway at 171 km, work is underway on 59 out of 75 artificial structures. More than 3 thousand people and 945 units of equipment are involved in the construction.

“This year, we will launch another traffic along 22 km 0 of the M-12 stage in the Moscow Region from the Central Ring Road (TsKAD) to A-108. Thus, motorists will be able to drive 39 km of M-12 at the end of 2022,” said Vyacheslav Petushenko, chairman of the board of the Avtodor state company.

The M-12 highway project is part of the Comprehensive Plan for the Modernization and Expansion of the Main Infrastructure (CPMI). The road with a length of 811 km will connect Moscow with Kazan, unite five regions: Moscow, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod regions, the Republic of Chuvashia and the Republic of Tatarstan. The implementation of the project will ensure high-speed road communication between the largest centers of economic growth in the Central and Volga Federal Districts, integrated with the network of high-speed roads in the European part of Russia and international transport corridors in order to realize the country’s transit potential, as well as improve the safety and quality of road traffic in the regions of gravity M-12. Travel time from Moscow to Vladimir will be halved. The tourist gems of the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve will become more accessible. It includes 56 monuments of civil, defensive and church architecture, located in Vladimir, Suzdal, Bogolyubovo, Gus-Khrustalny.
