The House of Culture “Stimulus” and the historical dance studio “Trianon” hold a Celtic ball “Journey around the World”.

In the old days, few people had the opportunity to travel somewhere, but they were happy to meet travelers in their villages, listen to stories and start dancing. Guests will be able to see how the Scots, Welsh, Bretons, and English spent their time. The dances “Journey to Goa”, “Dawn over Snowden”, “Bristol Bridge”, “Newport Square” and many others will be presented at the ball.

All guests will be dressed in Western European folk costumes. The program of the ball will be accompanied by live music from the Welsh dance community and the Porcelain Trianon Ensemble. There will also be demonstration dances in the “clocking” style – this is a dance of fairs and taverns, which is a competition of dancers in dexterity and skillful performance of tricks, a dance battle of the common people having a rest. Clogging is danced in shoes with wooden soles – clogs, which have long been popular in Wales as casual or work shoes.

Dancers from different cities of Russia are expected at the ball: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaluga, Novosibirsk. They have long been engaged in historical and folk dances and are ready to show their skills at this holiday. Entrance is free for spectators, but it is important to follow the dress code: Western European folk costume.
