The reconstruction of one of the buildings of the Federal Scientific Center for Transplantology and Artificial Organs named after Academician V.I. Shumakov. Head announced this Department of Urban Planning Policy of Moscow Sergei Levkin.

“In February of this year, a permit was issued for the commissioning of a five-block building, which is located on Schukinskaya Street (possession 1). After reconstruction, the area of ​​the facility is more than 23 thousand square meters. It has eight floors, including one underground,” he said.

The renovated medical building will have 115 surgical beds, 100 of them for adult patients and 15 for children. The department of radiation diagnostics and X-ray surgical methods of treatment, the department of functional diagnostics, the surgical department for coordinating the donation of human organs and tissues, cardiac surgery departments and laboratories will work in five blocks. Ancillary and administrative premises will also be located here.

During the reconstruction, three checkpoints were also organized on the territory of the center.

Specialists of the Academician V.I. Shumakova are engaged in transplantation, use artificial organs in cardiac surgery and the treatment of arrhythmia, help in the physical and psychological rehabilitation of patients, donors and recipients.
