Specialists will put in order the facade of the building, internal communications, roof, basements and entrances.

One of the Arbat architectural monuments in 2022 is waiting for a major overhaul. The work will take place in a unique neoclassical house at 45/24 Arbat Street. It was built in 1936 on the site of the demolished Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Plotniki.

Initially, it was planned to erect a building in the style of constructivism. But the idea was not realized. The six-story house was built according to the project of the architect Leonid Polyakov. The lower floors of the building were decorated with semi-columns and display windows. The rusticated façade creates the illusion of stone cladding.

Apartments in this house were received by the descendants of Leo Tolstoy and Alexander Pushkin. Their neighbors were polar explorer Ivan Papanin, writer Marietta Shaginyan, architects Vladimir Gelfreikh and Vladimir Shchuko.

By program overhaul The house is planned to carry out a complex of works. Maximum attention will be paid to the facade of the architectural monument. Its rustication and semi-columns, the plaster layer in the courtyard will be repaired. The façade will also be painted. Engineering systems will also be updated: cold and hot water supply, heat supply, water disposal and electricity supply. Work will also take place on the roof of the house, in its basements and entrances.

Each monument house requires an individual approach and more thorough preparation for major repairs. It is important to preserve as much as possible the original appearance and all the architectural features of buildings. All participating organizations are licensed by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. It guarantees the involvement of only certified specialists.

The Moscow overhaul program is one of the largest housing modernization projects in Russia and in the world. In total, by 2044, more than 28 thousand Moscow houses are planned to be repaired according to it. You can see their addresses at interactive map.
