Convenient crossings and stops will be equipped on the highway, as well as two parks and the square in front of the Stroganov School will be put in order.
This year, Volokolamskoye Highway and adjacent territories will be improved in the capital, Deputy Moscow Mayor for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement said Petr Biryukov.
“Today, the Volokolamsk highway is one of the key city highways, it passes through five districts. More than 190,000 people live within walking distance to it,” the deputy mayor noted. – The main task of the improvement is to turn the Volokolamsk highway into a comfortable transfer highway. In particular, to improve the accessibility of stopping points, to make a comfortable transfer from one mode of transport to another, to create convenient and safe navigation for pedestrians.”
Improvement works will affect not only sections along the Volokolamskoye Highway, but also adjacent areas, including the Skhodnya River Bank and Khimki River Valley parks, as well as the square in front of the building of the Moscow State Academy of Art and Industry named after S.G. Stroganov.
The Bank of the Skhodnya River Park is located on two banks. On the left bank there is a rowing slalom base. The sports function of this territory will be strengthened: a new point of attraction for lovers of physical activity will appear here, where they will be able to train and hold competitions. On the right bank of the park, places for recreation will be equipped, children’s and sports grounds will be updated.
The area near the building of the Moscow State Art Academy named after S.G. Stroganov will become a comfortable space not only for students, but also for local residents. In front of the main entrance, they plan to organize a recreation area, hold exhibitions and other events. As part of the improvement, parking will also appear here, trees and shrubs will be planted.
