This year, the improvement of the largest transport artery of the capital, Leninsky Prospekt, will continue. According to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Petr Biryukov, the work will also affect the surrounding streets.

“In 2020-2021, landscaping activities were carried out on the section of Leninsky Prospekt from Kravchenko Street to the Moscow Ring Road, this year we will make a section from the Garden Ring to Universitetsky Prospekt,” the Deputy Mayor noted. “A distinctive feature of the project is the additional landscaping of the highway and adjacent territories: it is planned to plant a large number of trees and shrubs, and create green hedges.”

So, it is planned to update two squares – near the city clinical hospital No. 1 named after N.I. Pirogov, which serves as the entrance to the Neskuchny Garden from Leninsky Prospekt, and on Academician Petrovsky Street.

Another entrance to the Neskuchny Garden through the historical gates is located in the area of house 20 on Leninsky Prospekt. They will make a pedestrian alley with a special paving pattern, plant trees and shrubs, and install comfortable benches.

Trees and shrubs will be planted in the park of Moscow Power Engineers on Vavilov Street, comfortable paths will be equipped, benches with charging slots, energy-saving lamps and street lamps will be installed. In addition, a new square will appear near house 14 on Ordzhonikidze Street.

“The boulevard on Akademika Zelinsky Street will get a new look, we will create comfortable spaces for recreation and a zone for playing chess there, we will install a children’s swing, we will build a mini-amphitheater. We will carry out the landscaping of Academician Tamm Square, where an unusual installation is planned – a metal table with benches and chairs around it, which will become a symbol of good neighborliness. Hanging balls will illuminate the territory,” added Petr Biryukov.

As part of the improvement project, a linden alley with modern lighting will appear on the square in front of the Moskva department store. The area itself will be expanded, convenient access for vehicles will be made and parking will be increased.
