Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov congratulated the students on the Day of the Russian Student Teams (RSO) and spoke about measures to support these youth organizations.
The holiday was established by decree of President Vladimir Putin in 2015 and is celebrated annually on February 17.
As Dmitry Chernyshenko noted, the Russian student teams are one of the largest youth organizations, which makes a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the country. Last year, RDF fighters worked at the construction sites of the Peaceful Atom project in the Chelyabinsk, Ulyanovsk and Tomsk regions, Kuzbass-300 in the Kemerovo region, as well as in the Yalta and Mriya service units, the Atlant and Academy”, agricultural teams “Agronomist-sad” and “Agrotech”, etc.
“Today, there are more than 3,500 student teams operating in Russia. They are not only engaged in career guidance for young people, but also help to implement projects that are important for the country. For its part, the Government also supports activists. Each year, they receive grants for additional professional training. During the courses, young people acquire practical skills that allow them to get a job during the holidays in construction, transport, agricultural companies, as well as in children’s camps, hospitals and clinics, and so on. In 2021, more than 3.7 thousand construction teams took courses. 49 million rubles were allocated for this. This year, we plan to allocate about 250 million rubles for these purposes. 35,000 people will be able to receive free training,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.
“Thank you for keeping the long-term traditions. Don’t stop there. Continue to develop your leadership qualities, acquire professional skills and, most importantly, gain invaluable work and management experience. Develop, set high goals for yourself, value friends. Health, success and new labor victories!” added the Deputy Prime Minister.
Valery Falkov said that the Russian Ministry of Education and Science annually compiles a rating of regional student teams. In 2021, the top 10 included the Perm, Tatarstan, Altai, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Crimean, Arkhangelsk, Voronezh, Chelyabinsk and Rostov branches of the RSO.
“The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia closely cooperates with student teams and annually implements a program to promote the employment of students and graduates for the summer period in student teams. In 2021, 100 thousand people worked in medical institutions, pedagogical and agricultural teams, at all-Russian and interregional student construction sites. In the labor semester of 2022, more than 150,000 fighters can join student teams,” said Valery Falkov.
The head of the department added that the student team contributed to important events for the country. They helped to host the APEC summit in Vladivostok, the Winter Olympics in Sochi, and the renovation of the Plesetsk and Vostochny cosmodromes.
“Normal North Ossetia Day is, first of all, a holiday of friendship, youth and the first work experience. The work you have done not only brought a significant result, but also helped you make your student years bright and memorable, gain memories that you will carry through your whole life. Today, I wish all the fighters and veterans of the student brigades success in achieving new goals, energy, enthusiasm and new adventures,” said the head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
