The meeting took place on February 17 at the NTSUKS EMERCOM of Russia under the leadership of Deputy Minister Viktor Yatsutsenko.
It was noted that the main efforts of the authorities and forces of the RSChS in 2021 were aimed at early forecasting and prevention of threats that directly affect the state of protection of the population and territories from emergencies and fires.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, in cooperation with other federal executive authorities, responded to 386 emergencies in a difficult epidemiological situation associated with coronovirus infection.
“The main result of our joint work is the saved lives, as well as the provision of timely assistance in case of fires, emergencies and incidents,” Viktor Yatsutsenko said. He noted that only joint work on prevention will achieve the main goal – the prevention of emergencies, as well as the implementation of preventive measures aimed at minimizing losses for the population and the economy of our country, reducing response time and providing assistance to people in trouble.
Thus, together with Roskosmos, space monitoring of more than 3.5 thousand flood-prone areas was carried out. More than 10 thousand satellite images have been received and processed. In cooperation with Roshydromet, the water levels in the Amur River were predicted in a timely manner, which made it possible to simulate the development of the situation during floods, and, together with the Federal Water Resources Agency, to regulate the operation of the Zeya and Bureyskaya HPPs to phase out rain floods. In cooperation with Rosleskhoz and interested bodies, more than 42,000 settlements have been protected.
At the moment, special attention is paid to the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. For the first time last year, an interdepartmental experimental research exercise was held to implement measures to protect territories from emergency situations that are part of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
The Deputy Minister noted that in order to increase the efficiency of the system for warning and responding to possible risks, it is necessary to direct efforts in 2022 to work on creating a data lake within a single information space, ensuring access and data exchange for federal agencies in the field of emergency prevention. It is also necessary to jointly introduce artificial intelligence technologies to process information entering the data lake, as well as to increase the effectiveness of preventive measures.
At the end of the event, based on the results of interdepartmental cooperation for 2021, 76 representatives of federal executive authorities were encouraged by the order of the Russian Emergencies Ministry with departmental awards and diplomas of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia.
