The internal messenger will allow you to conduct work correspondence, make calls and exchange files.

Department of Information Technologies of the City of Moscow launched a service messenger TDM Messenger for its employees. This mobile application, similar in its functions to the usual instant messengers, allows for more reliable and efficient work communication.

First of all, TDM Messenger will be used to discuss current tasks and coordinate the actions of development teams, when the stability of the communication channel is especially important.

“The experience of remote work has shown the importance of having our own tools for operational online communications. Such tools are more independent of external factors, including the stability of commercial messengers. The internal messenger will allow you to conduct work correspondence, make calls and exchange files without the risk of being left without access to the service and without worrying about the confidentiality of communication,” the Moscow Department of Information Technology said.

They also explained that only employees of the metropolitan authorities can connect to TDM Messenger, and all the information that it processes is stored in the city’s data center, and not on external servers.

The development of the application was carried out on the initiative of the State Unitary Enterprise “Moscow Social Register”, subordinated to the Department of Information Technologies of Moscow. The project did not require an increase in budget expenditures.

TDM Messenger is based on open source software. This allows you to quickly upgrade it in accordance with the tasks and needs, while providing an increased level of protection. The messenger is adapted for project management and team communication. For example, it provides the functionality of workspaces, within which you can create separate channels and chats with controlled access.

Work in the application is organized according to the principle of white lists: the user will not be able to register in it and get access to chats if his phone number is not entered into the messenger by the security administrator.

The messenger has already passed internal testing and is now available to employees of the Department of Information Technology and subordinate institutions. In the future, employees of city authorities and subordinate institutions will be able to use the application. It is not planned to make it open to all Internet users.
