On February 19, an extraordinary meeting of the Government Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies in the Russian Federation was held under the chairmanship of the Acting Head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Chupriyan. The topic of the meeting was the interaction of executive authorities in the issue of the evacuation of citizens from the DPR and LPR.

By the decision of the Governmental Commission on the territory of the Rostov region, an emergency regime of a regional nature was introduced.

The evacuation of the population is carried out by public and private transport. 150 buses were involved in the delivery. Railway transport is also in readiness – 5 electric trains and 5 long-distance trains. 10 units of trucks are ready to move goods.

“It is necessary to establish a redistribution of refugee flows in order to eliminate congestion at checkpoints. The arrival of citizens must be worked out in advance, two days in advance,” said A. Chupriyan.

7 subjects of the Russian Federation adjacent to the Rostov region, 19 remote subjects with direct railway communication with the region, also confirmed their readiness to accommodate internally displaced persons.

In the Rostov region, 282 temporary accommodation centers are ready to receive citizens. By the forces of the Don Rescue Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, in the area of ​​the Veselo-Voznesenka and Matveev Kurgan checkpoints, 2 life support camps with a total number of 400 people have been deployed. All arrivals will be registered in them for their subsequent distribution to stationary TAPs.

In total, a group of more than 450 specialists and 150 pieces of equipment was involved on the spot, and the Tula and Noginsk rescue centers were put on alert.

At the checkpoints there are 6 operational groups of the EMERCOM of Russia, which include psychologists. A hotline 8 863 239 99 99 has been opened on the basis of the hotline of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Rostov Region.
