The Active Citizen project completed votededicated All-Russian competition of children’s drawings “Defenders of the Fatherland”. It is held by the Victory Museum and the Yunarmiya movement.

Young artists had to draw a greeting card by February 23rd. In total, more than 10 thousand works were sent to the competition. For voting, the jury selected 15 best drawings made by children from the Moscow region. More than 133 thousand users of the Active Citizen project took part in it. They chose the winners in three age categories.

So, at the age of seven to 10 years, Alexander Boron from Moscow became the best. His drawing “Winner” received 29 percent of the votes, more than 38 thousand participants chose this work.

Among artists aged 11 to 14, Varvara Kuleva from Domodedovo won. For her drawing Blooming May. Return Home” was voted by 80,000 users (61 percent).

In the category from 15 to 17 years old, the work of Alina Sviridova from Domodedovo received the most votes. Her drawing “Front Road” was recognized as the best by more than 57 thousand people (43 percent of those who voted).

All participants in the creative competition will receive diplomas and gratitude from the organizers, and the winners will receive holiday collectible postcards created as a result of the competition. In addition, the works of all participants are presented on online exhibition of the Museum of Victory. Visitors to the museum’s website can choose a postcard they like and send it to friends, relatives or acquaintances by e-mail on Defender of the Fatherland Day by filling out the form in advance.

Project “Active Citizen” has been working in Moscow since 2014. During this time, more than 5.7 million people have joined it. They can decide which streets, yards and parks need to be improved, how city polyclinics, libraries, multifunctional centers should work, and choose events for festivals and holidays.

Decisions supported by the majority are implemented in the city. You can see the changes that have taken place in Moscow thanks to “active citizens” at online map. It already has more than 1.7 thousand objects. You can evaluate these changes in the rubric “Pulse of the capital”.

The Active Citizen project is being developed by Department of Information Technologies of the City of Moscowand state treasury institution “New Management Technologies”.
