The championship of Russia in athletics among juniors was held in St. Petersburg. About 500 strongest athletes under the age of 23 gathered in the Northern capital.

Yana Perepelitsa, a cadet of the Faculty of Psychology of the Vologda Institute of Law and Economics of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, took part in the competition at two distances. In the final race for 800 meters, the girl came to the finish line second, losing only 0.1 seconds to the winner. At a distance of 1500 meters, the Vologda athlete had no equal. Yana won the competition with a time of 4 minutes 22 seconds.

– From the first meters of the distance, I tried to save energy for the final spurt. Satisfied with the results! But there is no limit to perfection, I always want more, I set high goals for myself. Many thanks to the coaches for their work and faith in me, – said the winner.

We add that Yana has been involved in sports since childhood and has high ranks in biathlon, cross-country skiing and polyathlon. At the moment, the girl is a member of the VIPE FSIN team of Russia in official biathlon and athletics.
