On February 21, a weekly conference call was held under the leadership of the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Viktor Yatsutsenko. Over the past week, 5 ice crossings were opened in Russia, three were closed. In total, 1005 crossings and 162 winter roads are currently in operation. Their compliance with safety requirements is regularly monitored by employees of the emergency department.

Dangerous and adverse weather events were observed in 42 regions of Russia. In accordance with the forecast, the population was informed. Road restrictions were introduced in 8 regions, to date, restrictions remain on 13 sections of roads in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Murmansk, Orenburg and Sakhalin Regions. In the Tatar Strait, the movement of ferries along the route “Vanino – Kholmsk” was closed, in St. Petersburg, the gates of the complex of protective water and navigation facilities were closed. Power failure occurred in 5 settlements of the Sakhalin region, emergency recovery work continues.

During the reporting period, fire and rescue units responded to more than 3.6 thousand fires, and volunteer firefighters were involved in the elimination of more than 240 of them. In response to more than 1.2 thousand accidents, more than 330 people were saved. During the rescue and search operations, 156 people were rescued.

Rescuers control the safety of 114 tourist groups with a total number of more than 1 thousand people. In 2 regions, 10 avalanches occurred, 22 forced descents were carried out.

Pyrotechnic divisions of the department found and neutralized 40 explosive objects, including 26 bombs.
