Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko commented on the changes to the state program “Tourism Development” approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that in addition to subsidies to entrepreneurs for the improvement of beaches, the creation of campsites and the development of electronic guides, audio guides, as well as the purchase of equipment and the creation of an accessible environment for people with disabilities, the changes include the procedure for providing subsidies to regions for the creation of engineering and transport infrastructure for the development of tourism clusters .
“As part of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry national project, about 600 tourist facilities will be built by 2030, including hotels of various star ratings. Without the construction of the necessary supporting infrastructure for these objects, there will be no proper development of tourism clusters in the regions. I understand the importance of this task. The Russian government will provide subsidies to the regions for these purposes. This will allow the heads of the subjects to comprehensively approach the development of the tourism industry in the field. The funds will be used to compensate investors for the costs of connecting to energy, gas, water and heating networks, building roads to new complexes. By reducing the burden on the business, we reduce the construction time of facilities. President of Russia Vladimir Putin instructed us to accelerate the development of domestic tourism. This year, within the framework of the national project, 2.4 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget for the creation of engineering and transport infrastructure,” Dmitry Chernyshenko said.
The selection of regions that will be provided with subsidies for supporting infrastructure under the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry” will be carried out by the Ministry of Construction. Proposals for the distribution of funds will be further considered by the Presidium of the Government Commission for the Development of Tourism, chaired by Dmitry Chernyshenko.
