Voting took place in the Active Citizen project.

Active Citizens chose the winners of the international festival Snow and Ice in Moscow — the most interesting ice and snow sculptures were determined by voting in project.

The best ice sculpture was the work “Troika with the Snow Queen and Kai on a sled” by participants from Sergiev Posad. In second place is the Year of the Tiger by the Moscow team, and in third place is Frozen Beauty (Yekaterinburg). IN voting 172,874 people participated.

The best snow work of the festival was the “Moscow Tree” of the capital’s team. In second place is Father Frost’s Helper (Yekaterinburg), and in third place is Snow Quadrille (a team from Belarus). TO voting 170,126 people joined.

International Festival “Snow and Ice in Moscow”openedJanuary 2 at Pushkinskaya Embankment in Gorky Park. Guests could see more than 100 snow and ice sculptures from teams from different countries, including Belarus, Italy, Finland and Uzbekistan. Russia was represented by participants from Moscow, Aleksin, Perm, Nizhny Tagil, Alexandrov, Khimki, Kargopol, St. Petersburg, Izhevsk, Surgut, Korolev, Togliatti, Vologda, Barnaul, Sochi, Petrozavodsk, Yakutsk, Salekhard, Khabarovsk, Ryazan, Yoshkar-Ola , Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod.

The festival closed ahead of schedule due to the weather. It was supposed to last until February 28, but warming came to the capital too early.

Not only sculptures and snowmen

In addition to the exhibition, everyone could listen to live music, have fun with DJ sets, see street theater performances. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the festival hosted a program prepared by actors from nine street theaters: Tall Brothers, DaMy, Curtain, Lykk, Black Square, Eccentrics, Kanikuly, Pulsar, Sosferas.

Visitors could participate in free snow sculpture workshops. Professionals showed how to cut out original shapes using a special tool. More than 5,000 people attended these classes.

The festival was attended by actors, bloggers, musicians and writers. Together with the craftsmen, they created an alley of13 star snowmen. And nearby are 20 snowmen, sketches for which were drawn by children. They created more than 500 drawings and postcards from January 1 to 9 at the Journey to Christmas festival venues. After that, the capital’s designers chose the best of them – they appeared at the Snow and Ice in Moscow festival.

In addition, there was an exhibition with six ice figures from the cartoons Frozen, Moana, Mickey Mouse and His Friends, and Gravity Falls.
