On Defender of the Fatherland Day, the leadership of the Russian Emergencies Ministry laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

in Alexander Garden in Moscow.

The ceremony was attended by heads of structural divisions of the central office, members of the board and employees of the department.

Acting Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Alexander Chupriyan honored the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland in Rostov-on-Don by laying flowers at the memorial complex “Fallen Warriors” in the Frunze Park.

Exactly 100 years ago, in 1922, this date was officially declared Red Army Day. Later, February 23 was celebrated as the Day of the Soviet Army and Navy. On this day, Russia pays tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed themselves for the well-being and freedom of their Fatherland, congratulate veterans, current employees of law enforcement agencies and those who served in the armed forces.
