On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, junior inspector of SIZO-1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Ryazan Region, Ivan Kuznetsov, prevented a tragedy that could have occurred in Ryazan on Cherezovsky Pond.

A small puppy fell through the ice on a pond. A woman on the shore, seeing the incident, began to call for help. One of the passers-by rushed to save the mongrel and fell through the ice himself. The man could not get out: cold water and heavy outerwear interfered with him, in addition, he did not know how to swim. Ivan, an employee of the penitentiary system, was on vacation at that time and was fishing on the pond that day. As soon as he saw a drowning man, without hesitation, he threw himself into the icy water right in his clothes and saved him.

Thanks to the timely and competent actions of the junior security inspector, a possible tragedy was avoided. Eyewitnesses called an ambulance and a regional medical unit to the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital, and Ivan refused medical assistance and went home on his own.
