In the building of streaming classrooms, which belongs to the objects of the second stage world-class campus of NSU, being built within national project “Science and Universities”, We completed the construction of the atrium and installed a glass ceiling (skylight) on the roof. The construction of the campus is carried out in strict accordance with the schedule; all planned work was carried out during the New Year holidays.

The building of continuous classrooms is a five-story building with an area of more than 16,300 square meters. m. It will accommodate almost 2 thousand students. The building includes a student project center and a scientific library, which will store more than 2 million copies of books. The building will also house four continuous auditoriums: for 150, 200, 300 and 400 people. Moreover, the auditorium for 400 people will be one of the largest among Novosibirsk universities.

The atrium is an important element of the architecture of the building of streaming auditoriums; this is a central open area illuminated through a skylight (glass roof or ceiling). Such a large open space inside the building makes the interior lighter and brighter. The glass ceiling in the building of the flow classrooms is a translucent structure in the shape of a pyramid.

Deputy Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Irina Manuilova recalled that individual regional campus teams were awarded special awards based on the results of their work in 2023 within the framework of the III Congress of Young Scientists. — The new campus of NSU will create more comfortable conditions for both learning and project activities of students. The university will double the number of classrooms, which is important for organizing the educational process. Also, by 2030, we will increase the number of students by 1.4 times – from today’s 8.5 thousand to 12 thousand, and we will more actively develop network educational programs together with leading universities from other regions,” noted NSU Rector Mikhail Fedoruk.

The construction of other second-stage facilities also continues: work is underway on the installation of vertical structures of the 4th floor and the floor slab of the 3rd floor of the educational and scientific center of the Institute of Medicine and Psychology of NSU. In the building of the research center, work on the installation of vertical structures and the floor slab of the underground floor is 80% completed, work is underway on the installation of a waterproofing coating for the foundation, vertical structures and the floor slab of the 1st floor. The completion date for the construction of these second-stage facilities is the third quarter of 2025.

The readiness of the first-stage facilities, which include the academic building and the leisure center of the Scientific Research Center of NSU, as well as a complex of dormitories for 690 places (two blocks), exceeds 70%. The construction of these facilities is planned to be completed in the first half of 2024.
