The State University of Management invites students in grades 10–11, as well as all interested students, to open lectures on history by Doctor of Historical Sciences, laureate of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of education, head of the department of public administration and political technologies, Professor Nikolai Omelchenko.

The main goal of the lectures is to attract the attention of schoolchildren to the specifics of the Russian historical process, to help them understand the most complex issues of Russian history, which will allow students to deepen their knowledge and correlate the events of the past with the surrounding reality.

The lectures will examine the central problems of Russian history related to national specifics and historical features of the formation of Russian statehood, and will provide a comparative analysis of the Western European and domestic paradigm of state-political development. Schoolchildren will learn about new approaches to understanding the traditional foundations of the political culture of Russian society, the national mentality and character of the Russian people, historical alternatives to the state and political development of Russia.

The lectures will conceptually present the state reforms of Peter I, Catherine the Great, Alexander I, Alexander II, which are important for understanding the specifics of Russian statehood, and the features of the historical development of Russia at the beginning of the 20th century and during the Soviet period.

Lectures will be held on Thursdays at 20.00 in an online format. The first lecture will take place on January 25, 2024. A total of 13 lectures on the history of the Fatherland will be given. Participation is free.
