Representatives of the Institute of Civil Engineering and international services of SPbPU discussed the prospects for scientific and technical cooperation in the field of construction technologies with the management of one of the largest industrial parks of new materials in Jiangsu province – Nanjing Institute of New Materials Technology Nanjing BO KE. The online seminar was held with the organizational support of the SPbPU office in Nanjing.

Nanjing BO KE is a leading Chinese supplier of new building materials, occupying the first position in the Chinese concrete additives market. The institute’s research departments include the National Key Laboratory of Building Materials, Jiangsu Functional Polyester Research Center, National Technology Center and other structures.

From the side of the Polytechnic University, the meeting was attended by the director of the Higher School of Industrial, Civil and Road Construction Yuri Lazarev, the head of the department of international scientific and foreign economic relations Sergei Antonov, the deputy director of the Research Center for General Construction Technologies “Vysota” Artemy Cherkashin and the head of the testing laboratory Alexey Ismailov. Alexey spoke about the university’s promising developments in the field of digital transformation in design and production in transport construction. Technologies proposed by polytechnics allow, for example, to increase the reliability of road surfaces, reduce the risk of emergency situations on the roads using artificial intelligence, reduce repair costs and increase the service life of asphalt concrete pavements.

Such advantages are also attractive for the Chinese partner.

“The Institute strives to be at the forefront of technological development in its field, and therefore pays great attention to cooperation with research organizations,” said Ni Ziwei, Deputy General Director of Nanjing BO KE. “SPbPU and Nanjing BO KE have interesting prospects for joint development of the most modern technologies for both the Chinese and Russian markets.”

Ni Ziwei emphasized that the industrial park is a large cluster that includes a number of research structures, commercial companies and start-ups, and invited a delegation from the Polytechnic University to visit China to meet and discuss cooperation with colleagues from relevant organizations in the park. Such a visit is planned for 2024.
