The Center for the Development of Continuing Education, together with the platform (part of the Skillbox educational holding), offers Polytechnic teachers a series of courses on the development of soft skills.

Together with the platform, Polytechnic University organized three current programs for advanced training of teaching staff. The training consists of online courses from the Skillbox educational platform and face-to-face training at the Polytechnic site.

“Flexible communication skills are a key area of development for a modern teacher,” believes acting. O. Vice-Rector for Educational Activities Lyudmila Pankova. — One of the priorities of the Polytechnic University is to create conditions for the continuous training of teaching staff in additional professional education programs aimed at developing digital and soft skills. Such programs, first of all, will be recommended to young teachers, as well as teachers of self-development module disciplines.”

In the course “Our Emotions: Learning to Understand, Express and Manage Them,” practicing psychologists will help teachers learn to notice, correctly interpret and express their feelings without suppressing or transferring them to others. Students will learn about the types of emotions, their functions and manifestations, become familiar with the mechanics of developing awareness and practical tools that allow them to regulate the intensity of experiences and cope with stress in critical situations.

The Stress Management program is aimed at developing teachers’ skills in planning and prioritizing tasks, applying the principles of time management and resource management. During the training, they will learn ways to increase stress resistance, learn the principles of effective communication, and learn how to prevent burnout.

And as part of the “Conflict Management” course, students will learn to analyze conflict situations and use different strategies for resolving them.

It is important to provide university employees with various development opportunities, including through education from partners. On the one hand, this allows you to improve your level and gain new knowledge, on the other hand, you can look at other methods, approaches, and generate new ideas for your disciplines. That is why this year several experimental programs will be organized, tracks and modules will be launched with new partners and experts,” said Dmitry Tikhonov, vice-rector for additional and pre-university education.

As a rule, only the business environment speaks about the increased demand for the development of soft skills. However, flexibility, quick adaptation to changes in the market, the ability to build effective communications, team management skills and self-management are some of the key requirements for employees that we have recently seen in the educational sector. The implementation of such projects for us is an indicator that Russian universities are keeping up with the times and working with the future personnel reserve at the highest level,” says Elizaveta Shcherbinina, director of the department for work with the public sector at

The programs start on January 25.
