In February, two free programs to develop volunteer competencies will be held in Moscow. They are designed for those who want to learn the basics of volunteering or improve their skills in this area. The presenters will be employees of the Mosvolonter resource center and invited experts.

On February 8, an in-person intensive “Five Keys” will be held for experienced volunteers. This program will be useful to anyone involved in organizing volunteer activities. For example, leaders of volunteer associations in educational organizations or representatives of non-profit organizations who are involved in the preparation and management of volunteer corps at events. Trainers will help improve communication skills, tell you how to establish interaction within a team, unite and motivate the team.

The Five Keys course consists of three trainings. During the classes, participants will become familiar with the principles that need to be taken into account when implementing a volunteer program. These are attraction, motivation, encouragement, preparation and support.

At the first training, they will explain what you need to pay attention to when creating a volunteer corps and how to make volunteers want to become part of the team after meeting with the organizers. Students will also learn how to plan work with volunteers and properly reward them.

The second training will be devoted to familiarization with the principles of support and the structure of the volunteer corps. During the lesson they will talk about what organizational support includes. For example, this is communication with city assistants, their support and feedback, management and distribution of shifts, as well as maintaining team spirit.

At the final meeting, participants will explore ways to train volunteers to effectively perform various tasks. After this, they will be invited to take part in the board game “Five Keys”. Game tasks will help you consolidate your theoretical knowledge. Those who attend all trainings will be given a certificate of completion of the course. You can register until January 29 inclusive on the website “Mosvolontera”.

A “Get Involved!” course is planned for beginning volunteers, which will take place on February 10. Muscovites over 14 years old are invited to attend. The program will take place over one day. At trainings and business games, participants will become familiar with the basics of volunteering: the history of its development, the main tasks of volunteers. Listeners will also learn about the main areas of volunteer activity: social, cultural, sports, patriotic and others. In addition, they will have to find answers to key questions about starting their volunteer journey. This will be an important step towards conscious volunteering for each listener.

Course “Get involved!” will be a springboard into the world of volunteering for beginners and will help everyone who is taking their first steps in volunteering to feel confident. After the theoretical classes, participants will participate in the interactive game “Territory of Happiness.”
