As part of a working visit to the Voronezh region, Nikita Anisimov met with the head of the region, Alexander Gusev, and visited Voronezh State University (VSU) together with the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Voronezh Region, Oleg Mosolov.

The guests were given a tour of VSU, shown to the university auditorium and animation studio. VSU vice-rectors Elena Chupandina and Dmitry Kostin spoke about the work of the university and development plans.

Nikita Anisimov noted that the Voronezh region is one of the promising regions for HSE to work together. Today, about 350 students from this region study at the Higher School of Economics, and they show excellent academic results. In addition, the Voronezh region is on the list of regions in which HSE has been conducting expeditions of the “Rediscovering Russia” project for several years.

After a tour of the university, Nikita Anisimov, Oleg Mosolov and the management of VSU discussed educational issues and agreed to expand further cooperation, which may include the opening of mirror scientific laboratories and exploring the possibilities of opening joint educational programs of HSE and VSU with the issuance of two diplomas.

“I would like to express my deep gratitude to the governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Viktorovich Gusev, for supporting the system of science and education in the region and doing everything to ensure that this system develops. The Higher School of Economics has great prospects for cooperation with VSU. Our main goal is for students who will study within the joint educational programs of HSE and VSU to remain working in the region and implement their projects here in their homeland. This is the main priority of my trip to the Voronezh region,” emphasized Nikita Anisimov.
