Last year capital fairs More than six million people visited, entrepreneurs sold 11,642 tons of products. With their help, Moscow contributed to the implementation of the national project “Small and medium-sized businesses and support for individual entrepreneurial initiative”. Wrote about this on your blog Sergei Sobyanin.

“The popularity of street trading prompted us to launch a project of interregional fairs. In addition to open-air retail outlets, comfortable, cozy, colorful pavilions began to open, the operation of which does not depend on the weather and time of year,” said the Moscow Mayor.

Now there are 69 all-season fairs in the city. Six of them opened in 2023, including fish market in Kosino-Ukhtomsky. Together with weekend fairs, their number has reached 130. They have 2.7 thousand retail outlets and employ more than six thousand people.

The fairs are popular among Muscovites, among other things, because of their unusual design. For example, in the capital there are pavilions in French, neo-Russian, Indian, merchant, Crimean and even medieval styles.

Another feature of Moscow fairs is the emphasis on seasonal and regional goods from different parts of the country. Fresh products are brought from 47 cities of Russia and three other CIS countries. The geography of suppliers is constantly expanding. For example, honey is supplied to the capital by beekeepers from the Ryazan, Oryol, Rostov regions and Altai Territory.

At the fairs you can also find dry-cured sausages made from wild animals from the Leningrad region, and craft smoked meat delicacies from Moscow. Farmers tell guests about the features of production and methods of preparing a particular product.

“We regularly audit the demand for fairs and the availability of venues for residents of specific areas, so their geography and range will certainly continue to expand,” noted Sergei Sobyanin.

To become a participant in all-season fairs, you must apply in the State Budgetary Institution “Moscow Fairs”. Register for Weekend Fairs available on Places for farmers are provided free of charge.
