On January 25, the Day of Russian Students, the Open Doors Day of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was held in the Rosneft pavilion at the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia”.

The opening ceremony was attended by Natalia Mincheva, Vice-President for Personnel and Social Affairs – Director of the Rosneft Personnel Department, First Vice-Rector of MGIMO, Professor Gennady Tolstopyatenko, Director of the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy (MIEP) MGIMO, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Valery Salygin , as well as other representatives of the Company and the University.

Rosneft cooperates with 189 educational partner organizations, including 73 universities, 58 colleges and 58 schools. Work with educational institutions is carried out within the framework of the corporate system of continuous education “School – University – Enterprise”.

“Our system of continuous education “School – University – Enterprise” has existed for about 20 years. In response to business needs, the system changes, improves, and acquires new areas of development. The Company’s investments in working with young people and the development of educational partner organizations annually amount to more than 1 billion rubles, over the past five years – about 6 billion rubles,” said Natalia Mincheva. According to her, the Company allocates these funds to modern equipment for schools, colleges and universities, to support talented students, young teachers and scientists. But that’s not all. In the regions where it operates, Rosneft is implementing large infrastructure projects in the field of education.

Cooperation between Rosneft and MGIMO has been going on for almost two decades. The interaction is comprehensive and includes joint projects in various areas: training, retraining and advanced training of personnel, development of the activities of the Rosneft base department, educational infrastructure of the university, research activities, as well as support for students and teachers.

“Rosneft is not only oil and petroleum products, it is a global company and a strategic partner of our institute,” said Professor Tolstopyatenko. – The company supports MIEP programs and all our international training programs, regardless of their specialization. Therefore, it is not surprising that we are celebrating MGIMO Day here at the Rosneft site. For this, special thanks go to the Company’s management.”

Since 2007, the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy (MIEP) of MGIMO has operated the Rosneft-based department “Global Energy Policy and Energy Security,” where they train masters in the program “Energy Strategies of International Oil and Gas Companies.” During the work of the basic department, more than 150 master’s students of this program completed long-term internships at the Company. In addition, the corporate Master of Business Administration (MBA) program “International Business in the Oil and Gas Industry” is being implemented on the basis of MIEP MGIMO.

Since 2017, on the basis of the Odintsovo branch of MGIMO, the Rosneft Corporate Training and Development Center has also been operating, where the Company’s managers and specialists are trained in various areas: “Economics and Finance”, “International Projects”, “Property”, “Social Programs” , “Cross-cultural communications”, etc.

Rosneft and MGIMO are implementing educational cooperation projects with foreign partners, including Tsinghua University (China), and are engaged in training foreign citizens in Russia, including students from Mongolia and Cuba.

The results of cooperation between Rosneft and MGIMO in the research field are actively used in the preparation and implementation of the Company’s projects. In addition, Rosneft encourages promising teachers with corporate grants and provides support to students undergoing long-term internships at the Company.

University staff and students introduced visitors to the pavilion to the educational programs and activities of MGIMO and MIEP in general. Also in the pavilion there were speeches by students from Mongolia undergoing targeted training in the Rosneft field, the chairman of the MGIMO Student Union, the chairman of the Chinese Club of the NSO MGIMO and the best students of MIEP.
