? Moscow hosted a meeting of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan – Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk and Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of interaction between Russia and Kazakhstan in the field of transport, transit of goods, customs regulation and industry, as well as certain issues of the integration agenda and the agenda of the upcoming Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which will be held on February 1-2, 2024 in Almaty.

“Mutual trade maintains positive dynamics. In 2023, trade turnover between Russia and Kazakhstan increased by 2.3% – to 2.2 trillion rubles. We expect that the growth trends will continue in 2024,” the deputy minister noted. “The business circles of the two countries are actively involved in the implementation of dozens of joint projects in the field of low-carbon development and adaptation to climate change, in the field of tourism, industrial and digital trade.”
