First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov held a meeting on the implementation of the socio-economic development initiative of the Russian Federation “Electric car and hydrogen car”. Representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Energy, and the Ministry of Construction took part in it. Those present discussed the implementation of the initiative to develop the industry as a whole, the construction of fast electric charging infrastructure, summed up the results of the past year and outlined plans for 2024.

“In 2023, we exceeded the initial plans: cumulatively since 2022, 9,740 units of electric vehicles have been produced (plan 9,200), 1,151 “fast” electric filling stations have been installed (plan 1,136), more than 1,200 additional jobs have been created as part of the initiative, tax revenues have exceeded 16 billion rubles,” said Deputy Minister of Economic Development Maxim Kolesnikov.

He also added that over the past two years, two lines of fast charging stations have been introduced in 36 regions. In 2024, their number should increase to 65, and the plan for installing “fast” electric charging stations is 1,437 units.

Director of the Department of Consolidated State Policy and Digital Transformation of the Ministry of Energy Vladimir Furgalsky reported on the main directions of building charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the regions. The First Deputy Prime Minister focused on increasing the efficiency of using EPS and the need to increase their number.

“In 2024, we are talking about doubling the network and doubling the number of regions in which fast charging infrastructure is being created. The number of fast charging stations should increase to more than 2,500 by the end of 2024,” Andrey Belousov emphasized.

Andrei Belousov instructed the next meeting to work out both additional measures to stimulate production and issues of creating conditions for the development of special platforms that would allow consumers to conveniently find and use EPS, and participants in the implementation of the initiative to monitor the development of such infrastructure.
