The Moscow Film Festival has begun in Bangkok. This is one of the first events that was organized as part of the cross years of cultural exchange and tourism between Russia and Thailand.
“The opening of the festival took place under the auspices of the International Design Week in Bangkok. Over the course of two and a half months, five Russian films will be shown in cinemas in the Thai capital, Pattaya and Phuket Island,” said
Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.
According to her, the organizers of the event were the capital Department of Culture, the Thai Embassy in Russia, the Russian Embassy in Thailand, the Creative Economy Agency of Thailand (CEA) and other departments.
Thai audiences will be able to see films such as “The Challenge”, “Heart of Parma”, “Liberea: Treasure Hunters”, “Reversible Reality” and “The Little Humpbacked Horse”.
As part of the festival, it is also planned to sign a number of agreements on the co-production of films, animated films and TV series, and negotiations are underway to bring domestic works to streaming platforms in Thailand. Moscow and Thai industry representatives are already implementing several partnership projects: television shows, the series “Princess of Siam,” a feature film and a cartoon.
During the cross-years, international cooperation will extend to other areas of the creative industries. The program will involve parks, libraries, theaters and other cultural institutions.
