On January 20-21, 2021, the VIII Conference of thematic partners of the Artek International Children’s Center was held, in which representatives of the State University of Management took part, presenting the “Course on Business and Entrepreneurship” program.

Every year, the Artek International Children’s Center holds a competition for additional general developmental programs. In 2024, the center will implement 166 programs in 6 areas with the participation of 120 partners. Among the regular partners are the Foundation for Social and Cultural Initiatives, Roscosmos, Russian Railways, the Russian Tennis Federation, the Foundation for Support of International Children and Youth Initiatives “COMMONWEALTH” and many others.

One of the winners of the competition was the State University of Management, which delegated 4th year students of the “Project Management” major Maria Larshina and Vladislav Kovalev, who are members of the project team of the “Course in Business and Entrepreneurship” program, to the conference of Artek partners.

Our students took part in the plenary session, at which they were awarded a certificate for the implementation of the general development program submitted to the competition.

“We have big plans for cooperation with the children’s center. We would like to attract our resources in terms of partners and outstanding graduates to introduce children to such a relevant environment as small and youth entrepreneurship. In our country, programs to support youth under 25 are actively developing. Accordingly, we want to attract children to this topic so that they start their own business at an early age. Artek is a huge resource and a large federal platform, which certainly attracts the attention of our country and the entire world community. Interaction with such a large partner with a huge amount of resources is a very important step for our university,” said Maria Larshina.

On the second day of the conference, a location was allocated for SUM where the roll-up program was located and its presentation took place, during which Maria Larshina and Vladislav Kovalev spoke about the successful experience of implementing the “University Shifts” project at SUM.

The additional general development program “Course on Business and Entrepreneurship” is aimed at training qualified personnel for medium and small businesses by involving teenagers and youth. Its goal: to develop competencies in the field of entrepreneurship among students through interactive forms of learning, project and gaming technologies. The main events of the program include: lectures, conversations, discussions, project work in groups, business and role-playing games, quiz.

Over the course of two days, Artek teachers and thematic partners developed mechanisms for integrating thematic programs into the educational process of the children’s center; the partners became more familiar with the camp and immersed themselves in the dramaturgy of Artek shifts. As a result, joint projects were formed, subordinated to common substantive tasks.

Also within the framework of the Conference, a festival of creativity was held, excursions and memorial events were held in honor of the Artek heroes.
