Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is traditionally one of the leaders in the number of budget places sold among universities in St. Petersburg. This year was no exception. Polytechnic University opens new and updates existing educational programs in the master’s program. This year, several training programs have been opened in various fields of science. For example, “Automation of statistical decisions in an organization” (IPMEiT), “Neurostatistical technologies in marketing” (IPMEiT), “Examination and operation of real estate objects” (ISI), “Cyber security of unmanned systems” (ICNK), etc.

“The Master’s degree is not just the next stage after basic undergraduate studies, it is key specialized training that allows students to deepen their knowledge and develop the specialized skills necessary to achieve professional excellence. Now, during the formation of a new national education system, the master’s program provides a unique opportunity for scientific research, practical application of theory and the development of critical thinking, which is the foundation for leadership in any profession,” said Lyudmila Pankova, Vice-Rector for Educational Activities of SPbPU.

St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is heading towards new formats for developing partnerships with leading players in the industrial sector. As part of this strategy, the university opens corporate educational programs that reflect the current needs of the economy and industry, ensuring the technological sovereignty of Russia.

For example, “Cybersecurity of unmanned systems” is a completely new corporate program implemented jointly with Geoscan Group of Companies. In addition, the implementation of many other corporate programs continues.

Here are just some examples:

“IT infrastructure of the enterprise”, “Cyber security of the oil and gas industry” and “IT economics and business analysis” are implemented in close cooperation with PJSC Gazprom Neft; program “Organization and management of digital knowledge-intensive production” – in partnership with PJSC Severstal; “Compressor, vacuum, refrigeration equipment and gas transportation systems” – PJSC Gazprom; “Aircraft engines and power plants” – JSC “UEC-Klimov”.

Corporate programs are not just training courses, they are bridges connecting theoretical knowledge with real practice, brought to life through close interaction with industrial giants. It is also important that these programs are accessible to young talents due to the availability of budget places.

More detailed information about all ongoing master’s programs can be found on the website “Admission 2024”.

We also note that in 2024, the Advanced Engineering School of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University “Digital Engineering” will open six new master’s programs in engineering areas, implemented jointly with industrial partners. In particular, the new programs will train engineers with world-class competencies for high-tech industries:

“Advanced digital technologies in engine building” (industrial partner – JSC “UEC” (GC “Rostec”) – 8 budget places; “System and digital engineering in high-tech industries” (industrial partners – company “Brusnika”, PJSC “Gazprom Neft” , St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise “Gorelektrotrans”) – 11 budget places; “Digital engineering of the main technological equipment of hydrogen technologies and new generation energy systems” (industrial partner – JSC “TsKBM” (GK “Rosatom”) – 10 budget places; “System digital engineering in nuclear engineering” (industrial partner – TVEL JSC (Rosatom State Corporation) – 10 budget places; Digital engineering in nuclear and thermonuclear energy” (industrial partners – ASE JSC (Rosatom State Corporation), NIKIET JSC , Ioffe Physicotechnical Institute, Budker Nuclear Physics Institute) – 11 budget places; “Organization and management of high technologies in the oil and gas industry” (industrial partner – PJSC Gazprom Neft) – 10 budget places.

Polytechnic University meets the challenges of modern industry and, together with partners, develops digital online master’s programs on its basis. At the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics and Trade, two new ones have opened in addition to the existing online master’s program (“Economic Consulting”) – “System data analysis and decision-making technologies” and “Project and product management in a competitive business environment”, which already have well-known features:

intermediate and final certifications are carried out online using a proctoring procedure; synchronous (online) classes are conducted in the format of webinars with the device’s video cameras turned on; practical training of students can be carried out at the student’s place of work if there is an appropriate agreement with the enterprise; lectures and other supporting materials are always available; The defense of the final qualification work is also carried out in an online format.
