On February 7, as part of the cooperation between the Polytechnic University and JSC “UEC-Klimov”, 16 employees of the company began training in a customized professional retraining program “Quality Management”. The SPbPU Center for the Development of Continuing Education has developed a training program for employees of JSC “ODK-Klimov” that takes into account the specifics of the enterprise’s activities. The program is implemented in a part-time format with practical classes at the enterprise’s training center.

One of the main advantages of training in the “Quality Management” program is that it is based on modern standards, so specialists who have completed the training will have up-to-date knowledge and techniques that can be applied directly in practice, comments Dmitry Tikhonov, vice-rector for additional education. and pre-university education of SPbPU.

The teachers of the program are Associate Professor of the Higher School of Service and Trade of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University Boris Lyamin, Associate Professor of St. Petersburg State University of Trading and Technology, Deputy Director for Quality of PETRO-WEST-5 LLC Dmitry Samorukov and Head of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Marina Kobysheva. Training under the program will allow specialists to develop the skills and competencies necessary for effective control and management of the quality of products or services. This is especially true in the manufacturing sector, where quality deficiencies can lead to customer churn, deterioration of the company’s reputation and financial losses. As part of the training, students will study modules related to product quality and competitiveness, production management, quality methodology, requirements of anti-corruption legislation of the Russian Federation and many others.

Today, quality management is closely intertwined with all activities of the organization. The leading role in this process belongs to the personnel of the enterprise, its intellectual potential, and creative energy. The level of quality of products directly depends on the qualifications and professionalism of all employees,” noted Tatyana Uskova, leading specialist at the Center for the Development of Continuing Education of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

Within the framework of cooperation between Polytechnic University and ODK-Klimov, since 2017, more than 100 employees of the enterprise have been trained on professional retraining programs in the field of project management, quality management and aircraft engine production design technologies.

Training under an additional professional program for our employees is due to the fact that management of a quality management system is an integral part of the integrated management of enterprises in the aircraft manufacturing industry. Systematic management allows us to ensure high quality of product output and provision of services in the production and maintenance of aviation equipment,” shared Lyudmila Strugova, director of the training center of UEC-Klimov JSC.
