Students spoke about the results of their work over the past semester. The event was attended by teachers and laboratory staff, as well as experts from partner companies. The conference took place as part of the 1st Winter School, conducted by the laboratory with the support of industrial partners from January 26 to February 2, 2024.

— SberLab-NSU is a unique project. Here, kids can do what they love, develop their projects, ideas, receive a scholarship and invaluable experience, which is as close as possible to working in large technology companies. This year we are holding Winter School for the first time. This is a pilot project in which students undergo online training for a week with a fairly busy schedule. There are more than 40 hours included, the tasks are quite complex. The guys are intensively mastering new material. They took a course on Platform V, which SberTech is proud of. This is truly a very large platform that allows you to solve many problems. Employees of Sber itself and SberTech take similar courses when they come to work in order to delve into the project and understand what they will have to work with. Now our guys have also studied this material, so we hope that this will allow them to be more promising in terms of future employment,” said the project curator, senior lecturer at the Department of General Informatics Faculty of Information Technologies Artyom Tregubov.

The student educational and scientific laboratory is an experimental base for the development and implementation of educational programs at the FIT NSU, in which the most advanced technologies that are in demand for the development of the IT industry in Russia are studied and used. In addition, it is a platform for attracting and training promising graduates. The laboratory is developing projects that have both socially beneficial applications and clearly have practical value for the IT industry.

— We are very grateful to Sber, our industrial partner, for supporting the laboratory. Without this support, it would not be so easy to recruit such a number of students, grow and develop. In my opinion, this is an example of the implementation of the “Lavrentiev triangle”. Many people know that science and production should be close. Thanks to our laboratory, we bring to life the same principle when students, while at the university, already gain experience and are fully ready to start working in the real sector,” notes Artyom Tregubov.
