The first event of the new season of financial film lectures took place at the Salyut cinema. The educational project is being implemented by the capital Department of Finance together with the Moskino cinema chain.

Financial film lecture is a modern format that combines watching a film and a lecture by experts in the field of finance. After the session, viewers discuss the behavior of the characters in the film and analyze life situations related to personal budgets. In the new season of the project, they can learn how to effectively manage savings, counteract scammers, protect their rights in the store, where to start investing and why it is profitable to be self-employed.

The new season of the financial film lecture began with a viewing and discussion of the comedy “Zhmot”. The main theme of the film is an exaggerated desire for savings, turning into extreme greed. Experts from the Moscow Center for Financial Literacy told us how to find a middle ground between stinginess and extravagance without sacrificing your economic goals. After discussing the film, viewers received recommendations from experts on how to manage personal income and expenses and maintain savings. In addition, event participants learned how to wisely donate funds to charity and why money influences a person’s emotions, thinking and behavior.

The film lecture was attended by viewers of different ages – from students to retirees. They asked experts about how to deal with phone scammers, avoid falling victim to phishing scams, save wisely and avoid excessive credit load.

Participants also noted the convenience of the event format, combining pleasant leisure time with gaining new knowledge. For example, experts talked about financial psychology – how money can change people, sometimes not for the better.

Film screenings are planned to be held quarterly. This year, a series of financial film screenings will cover the topics of family and personal budget planning and management, savings, financial psychology, consumer rights and responsibilities, anti-fraud, investing, insurance and entrepreneurship, including self-employment.
