In October 2023, the rector of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Rudskoy visited the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU)), where he took part in the panel discussion “Slavic University 2050: prospects and priorities”, with the participation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov. After the discussion, an agreement on scientific and educational cooperation between SPbPU and KRSU was signed.

To develop the ongoing interaction and to specify the directions for further work, from February 19 to 20, 2024, a representative delegation of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University headed by acting. O. Rector Denis Fomin-Nilov. Colleagues from KRSU took part in the anniversary events of our university, got acquainted with the campus, met with the rector of SPbPU Andrey Rudsky and held a number of working meetings at Polytechnic institutes.

At a meeting with the rector of SPbPU Andrey Rudsky, a roadmap in the direction of “Industrial, civil, road and energy construction and environmental safety” was signed, the main provisions of which were previously agreed upon during the visit of the delegation of the Institute of Civil Engineering of SPbPU to KRSU in December 2023 and subsequent negotiations between specialists. University leaders confirmed their intention to launch several joint scientific and student projects in the field of engineering construction this year.

The Polytechnic University is ready to implement specific joint projects and is ready to offer KRSU its competencies not only in the engineering and construction field, but in general in all areas of advanced engineering education. We intend to work together so that KRSU is a true international cross-border university, a flagship university of Russian education and science abroad,” noted Andrei Rudskoy following the meeting.

During their acquaintance with the Polytechnic University – and this is the first visit of the new rector of KRSU and his team to SPbPU – the guests visited a number of scientific and educational departments, laboratories and centers of our university, which may be of greatest interest for partnership, especially in areas related to the development of natural sciences. Technical Faculty of KRSU. In the Technopolis Polytech research building, colleagues got acquainted with the possibilities Supercomputer Center “Polytechnic”, technologies of the Center for Open Education, in particular withlaboratory online campus, online courses available to KRSU, and a studio for recording them. In addition, meetings were held inLaboratories “Industrial Stream Data Processing Systems” PISH SPbPU “Digital Engineering” and the Laboratory of Microelectronics (Design Center for the Design of Integrated Circuits) of the Higher School of Electronics and Microsystem Engineering IE&T.

In the laboratories, guests were shown the results of specific projects using digital technologies for traffic analysis, automated assessment of the degree of adhesion of bitumen to crushed stones (as applied to road construction), product development and microelectronic production technology. Colleagues from the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University also visited the Scientific and Educational Center “Nanotechnologies and Coatings” of the IMM&T, where they got acquainted with applied tasks in the field of development of new materials, technologies for their reproduction and equipment on which the results of developments can be replicated.

In the afternoon, a working meeting was held between the KRSU delegation and the management and leading professors of the Civil Engineering Institute. The main focus of the meeting was to discuss specific tools and mechanisms for implementing each of the seven roadmap activities. The events include a lot of interesting and mutually beneficial work. For example, the implementation of such joint scientific and educational projects as “Development of a digital design project for the KRSU campus using renewable energy technologies” and “Development of a comprehensive scheme for the development of transport infrastructure in Bishkek,” as well as academic mobility of students and teachers and participation in scientific conferences. At the Scientific and Educational Center “Renewable Energy Sources” and the Scientific and Educational Space “Metakampus-Polytech”, guests from KRSU were presented with the results of the work being carried out and discussed the possibilities of implementing joint projects.

And about. Rector of KRSU Denis Fomin-Nilov described the results of fruitful working days at SPbPU as follows: As part of the roadmap, we have agreed on a substantive list of projects that we are going to implement in the next two years. KRSU is in the process of comprehensive modernization, and the support of SPbPU, one of the leading CIS universities in the field of technical sciences, will be an excellent foundation for the future. We give priority to cooperation with the Polytechnic in the field of network programs, joint research and development. For example, one of the key areas will be a joint laboratory for the development of renewable energy in the Kyrgyz Republic. Its creation will help strengthen the energy security of Kyrgyzstan through the development of experimental technologies and the training of young qualified specialists based on a modern production base.

It is expected that the next meeting of rectors and a discussion about the scientific potential of Slavic universities will take place at the beginning of March 2024 at the site of the World Youth Festival in Sirius.

Also during the anniversary celebrations, the Polytechnic University was visited by representatives of one of its key partners in China – Jiangsu Normal University (JPU). The representative delegation was headed by Rector Zhou Zhuguang and also included Director of the Joint Engineering Institute Li Yanlin, Director of the Mathematical and Statistical Institute of the CPU Zhang Chao, Deputy Director of the Joint Engineering Institute Wang Li, Deputy Director of the International Relations Department Wang Bo.

The joint engineering institute of the Polytechnic University and Jiangsu Normal University is today one of the largest implemented educational projects in the field of Russian-Chinese educational cooperation. The training of specialists at the Joint Institute is carried out by teachers from the Central University and St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. On the basis of the CPU, he undergoes training at the joint Russian Language Center.

At a meeting with Rector Andrei Rudsky, the partners discussed various aspects of cooperation, the work of the Joint Engineering Institute and the Russian Language Center, which has long been engaged in improving the qualifications of Russian language teachers and training Chinese students.

Also the subject of discussion was the expansion of the list of areas of training for technical bachelor’s programs and the preparation of students for master’s programs in English to strengthen further scientific and educational cooperation.
