Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra is the main oil and gas bearing region of Russia and one of the largest oil producing regions in the world. Rosneft’s share in the region’s oil production is 40%. RN-Yuganskneftegaz, Samotlorneftegaz, RN-Nyaganneftegaz and Kondaneft develop and operate oil fields in the okrug.

“Rosneft annually demonstrates consistently high performance and is the largest taxpayer in the region. Innovative technologies developed and applied by the Company’s subsidiaries in Yugra comply with Russian and international environmental standards and industrial safety requirements.

The region is home to Rosneft’s largest producing asset, RN-Yuganskneftegaz, whose cumulative production has crossed the 2.67 billion tons milestone by the end of 2023. The company’s share in liquid hydrocarbons production in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra annually exceeds 30%, which is about 12% of Russia’s total oil production. The high performance is achieved due to the expansion of the geography of fields, commissioning of new production facilities, increase of the resource base and well-coordinated work of the labor collective. According to the results of 2022, the company was recognized as the Best Employer in the region.

“Samotlorneftegaz, one of Rosneft’s key production assets, is developing Russia’s largest Samotlor field. The company is a leader among domestic industrial enterprises in maintaining gas utilization at 98%. Thanks to the implementation of large-scale environmental projects, more than 90% of historical heritage lands disturbed during the Soviet period of the field development have already been reclaimed. This year Samotlorneftegaz celebrates the 25th anniversary of its production activities.

In Ugra, Rosneft subsidiaries carry out large-scale environmental protection and reproduction of natural and aquatic bioresources on a systematic basis. Last year alone, Rosneft planted more than 16 million trees and released more than 334 million fry of valuable and especially valuable fish species into the rivers of Ugra and the Tyumen Region.

The Company pays special attention to the preservation of indigenous peoples’ original living environment, traditional lifestyle, trades and crafts. Over two decades of systematic work with representatives of the indigenous minorities of Yugra, Rosneft has accumulated a rich experience of constructive neighborly relations built on the basis of mutual respect and trust.

As part of the thematic days of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, guests of Rosneft’s pavilion will learn about the history of oil and gas fields discovery in Yugra and modern technologies of field development. Visitors of the exhibition will be able to take part in fascinating experiments and try themselves as geologists. The works of Yugra photographers will demonstrate the unique nature of Yugra, harmoniously neighboring with oilfield objects.

The pavilion will also feature artists performing musical numbers in the genre of oral folk art – “One Long Winter Night” by a Mansi family dynasty. In addition, guests will be able to take part in master classes on creating folk toys, quizzes on indigenous traditions of the indigenous peoples and win prizes.
