A large entrepreneurial tournament was held at St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, organized within the framework of the All-Russian program for the development of youth entrepreneurship “I’m in business”. Eight teams took part in it.

The tournament was a quiz game consisting of several rounds, in each of which participants had to choose the correct answers to a series of questions about the business ideas of successful entrepreneurs. All rounds were aimed at developing the competencies necessary for successful business, leadership skills, studying the strategies of leading companies, and the ability to manage resources. In addition, students learned to work in a team and developed strategic thinking.

According to the results of the tournament, the second-year team of the Faculty of Economics and Management took first place.

“We have assembled a team of guys, each of whom is well versed in their professional field. Among us are managers, economists, estimators, and aspiring businessmen. We didn’t know what kind of questions there would be, but we were confident in our preparation,” team member Sofia Mityagina shared.

The head of the external relations headquarters of the “I’m in Business” program, Sofya Posnysheva, noted: “The participants demonstrated the basic knowledge and competencies necessary for an entrepreneur. As part of such tournaments, students learn to talk, interact and defend their point of view. And this is an important skill not only in entrepreneurship, but also in life. I am confident that with such passionate young specialists, our country will have a good future.”

Let us add that the “I’m in Business” program is implemented annually; this entrepreneurial tournament became the first stage of the next season. In March-April, the second stage will be held – the “Entrepreneurial Course”, during which students will be able to create startups, take part in master classes with experienced mentors and defend their projects. The third stage of the program includes regional defense of projects and federal presentations of business ideas. The current season will end in July with on-site training.

Thus, the program gives students the opportunity not only to learn entrepreneurial skills, but also to promote their business ideas.
