The SPbPU Information and Library Complex (IBC) has prepared a virtual and book exhibition dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. It is based on the works of historians, thoughts and deeds of the university’s contemporaries, preserved in notes, notes, poems and songs, as well as moments of life captured in photographs.

The exhibition “History of SPbPU: facts, memories, official documents” contains unique materials from the library collection, many of which are published for the first time. Facts, dates, information, official documents, legends and memories tell about the creation of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic, the opening and first years of the institute, the student mutual aid fund, as well as changes at the beginning of the 20th century and the life of the institute in Soviet times.

With this exhibition, the staff of the IBC SPbPU pay tribute to those who founded a scientific city in the Russian Empire, created a student fraternity, formed traditions and foundations, and gave a “scientific charge” to future brilliant discoveries.

These days, each of us wants to present our gift, to thank our alma mater for successes and achievements, for that special taste for life that encourages us to dream, achieve the impossible, go towards the goal, creating the present and building the future – to record our history of the Polytechnic University, – they think in the information and library complex.

The exhibition can be viewed atlink. It is also possible to order original documents from the IBC collections for review remotely on the Polytech library portal.
