On the eve of the wonderful spring holiday of March 8, SPbPU Rector Andrei Rudskoy from the entire university congratulated women professors and doctors of science on International Women’s Day. The meeting took place in the Winter Garden cafe of the Technopolis Polytech research complex.

Almost from the very foundation of the Polytechnic, young ladies received education at the university on an equal basis with men. On March 6, the Winter Garden was sunny like spring, but not only because of the good weather. The cafe was lit up with the radiant smiles of the women who had gathered here to receive congratulations from the men of the Polytechnic. A unique festive atmosphere was created by live music performed by a string quartet.

We are grateful for everything you do for the Polytechnic and express our boundless admiration for your strength. You are the elite of our university. Take care of us, protect us, without you we are nothing and no one. You managed to organize your life in such a way as to be mothers, wives, keep families and at the same time be leaders in the profession. Each of you is unique and unique. “Congratulations to you, blessed ones, protected by God,” said Andrei Rudskoy.

In response, the meeting participants warmly thanked Andrei Ivanovich and, in turn, congratulated him on his birthday, which took place on February 19, the day of the 125th anniversary of the Polytechnic University. They warmly thanked the representatives of the fair half of the university for their patience, spiritual strength and amazing energy.

The communication, filled with lightness and joy, continued in an informal atmosphere. Polytechnicians enthusiastically discussed the past anniversary of the university, and shared opinions about current issues in the field of education, science, and project activities. In general, there were a lot of topics for conversation.

In memory of such a joyful meeting, women scientists of the Polytechnic University were presented with flowers and gifts. And after that, a festive concert of the stars of the St. Petersburg operetta “Can’t Live Without Women?” was held in the White Hall of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
