“Russia” (Aeroflot Group) became a participant in the national project “Labor Productivity”, which is supervised by First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov. The airline plans to increase efficiency by introducing lean manufacturing technologies. Experts from the Federal Competence Center (FCC) provide targeted support to the air carrier.

The pilot project is planned to be implemented at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg. Experts will help improve the speed and quality of aircraft maintenance. Thus, more transport will be available to carry out the flight program. At the next stage, it is planned to implement the project in the Department of Ground Transportation Support.

“22 airports and airlines in the country receive support from the Federal Competence Center. Experts help reduce aircraft servicing time, improve passenger navigation at airports, and increase check-in speed. This is especially important with the growth of domestic tourism. Pilot projects to improve efficiency have already been implemented at 12 enterprises. The increase in added value amounted to more than 1.6 billion rubles,” noted Deputy Minister of Economic Development Murat Kerefov.

“The introduction of lean production tools in the airline is a key step towards increasing the efficiency of our work and increasing labor productivity, and therefore creating conditions for constant growth and development,” said Ilya Molchanov, Director for Project Management and Strategy Implementation of Rossiya Airlines JSC. “We are now at the very beginning of a journey aimed at building a system of continuous improvement, as well as developing a corporate culture that allows employees to use their potential to improve processes.”

Currently, a team of Rossiya employees, in collaboration with FCC experts, is learning lean manufacturing tools. After receiving the appropriate certificate, representatives of the airline team will be able to pass on their knowledge and skills to colleagues. Gradually, the whole of “Russia” will be involved in the general system of continuous improvements.

The airline aims, with the help of the national project, to ensure sustainable growth rates in labor productivity, which, as a result, will improve the overall dynamics of the carrier’s development. The program allows you to consolidate resources and generate new ideas, avoid temporary losses and minimize financial costs. Consistent connection of all departments to the mechanism will increase the interest of employees and create conditions for more competent planning and implementation of common tasks.
