At the meeting of the prime ministers of Russia and Azerbaijan in Baku, a road map for tourism development for 2024-2026 was signed. The documents were signed by Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Vladimir Ilyichev and Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan Fuad Nagiyev.

For the next three years, the “road map” will become a key document according to which the two countries will work in the field of tourism – solve problems in developing joint routes and tourism projects.

“The road map will allow Russia and Azerbaijan not only to develop joint tourism programs, but also to increase the mutual tourist flow by 40%, and by 2027 to reach 1 million trips per year,” noted Vladimir Ilyichev. – It is important for our countries to increase current indicators and strive to create a common tourism space. Moreover, Russia and Azerbaijan have everything necessary for the development of tourism – original culture, unique nature and hospitable people.”

Let us remind you that today for Russian citizens Azerbaijan is one of the most popular tourist destinations among neighboring countries. More than 80 flights operate weekly between Russia and Azerbaijan. Direct flights to the republic are carried out immediately from 11 regions of Russia.

In 2023, the number of mutual tourist trips increased by 1.5 times. 475.6 thousand Russian citizens visited Azerbaijan, 258.6 thousand Azerbaijani citizens visited Russia.
