On March 12, 2024, the Bank of Russia issues commemorative coins “Nuclear Icebreaker “Sibir”” of the “Russian Nuclear Icebreaker Fleet” series:

A silver coin in the denomination of 3 rubles (the mass of the precious metal in purity is 31.1 g, the fineness of the alloy is 925) has the shape of a circle with a diameter of 39.0 mm. A gold coin with a face value of 200 rubles (the mass of the precious metal in purity is 31.1 g, fineness is 999) has the shape of a circle with a diameter of 33.0 mm.

There is a protruding edge around the circumference of the coins on the front and back sides.

On the front side of the coins there is a relief image of the State Emblem of the Russian Federation, there are inscriptions: “RUSSIAN FEDERATION”, “BANK OF RUSSIA”, coin denomination: “3 RUBLES”, “200 RUBLES”, date: “2024”, metal designation according to the Periodic Code system of elements D.I. Mendeleev, alloy hallmark (fine), trademark of the St. Petersburg Mint and pure mass of precious metal.

On the reverse side of the silver coin (catalog number 5111-0497) there is a relief image of the nuclear icebreaker “Siberia” and ice ridges against the background of an image of the aurora, made in the form of wavy rainbow lines with the effect of light interference; At the bottom along the circumference there is a relief inscription: “NUCLEAR ICEBREAKER FLEET”.

The side surface of the coin is grooved.

The coin is made in proof quality.

The circulation of the coin is 3.0 thousand pieces.

On the reverse side of the gold coin (catalog No. 5219-0035) there is a relief image of the nuclear icebreaker “Sibir” and ice hummocks against the background of a stylized image of the starry sky, made using laser matting technology with relief areas; At the bottom along the circumference there is an inscription: “NUCLEAR ICEBREAKER FLEET”.

The side surface of the coin is grooved.

The coin is made in proof quality.

The circulation of the coin is 0.5 thousand pieces.
