Today, elections for the President of the Russian Federation began throughout the country. The most important political event was attended by the rector of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Rudskoy, vice-rectors of the university and other employees of the Polytechnic University. On the morning of March 15, they cast their votes at polling station No. 358, organized on the university campus at 48 Novorossiyskaya Street.

In the voting hall, members of the election commission meet voters and thank them for coming to express their civic position. After checking the documents, SPbPU Rector Andrei Rudskoy received a ballot, went into the voting booth and made a choice.

The election results will affect the future development of our country, so every vote is important. Andrei Ivanovich recalled this after he put his ballot in the ballot box.

For the first time in the history of our country, elections last three days, and voters also have the opportunity to vote remotely and even earlier. The task is to provide services so that citizens of the Russian Federation living in different regions of our vast country have the opportunity to express their opinions. I have voted many times in my life. But today I especially felt a sense of happiness, responsibility and participation in the history of my Fatherland. Russia, probably for the first time since the Second World War, is faced with serious challenges that require the true citizens of the country to clearly express their opinions and identify a leader who will govern great Russia reliably, wisely, correctly, honestly and with dignity. Today, with trembling in my heart, I remembered these words from the National Anthem of the Russian Federation: “Our loyalty to the Fatherland gives us strength. So it was, so it is and so it will always be!” — shared Andrey Rudskoy.

In St. Petersburg, all conditions have been created for voting to take place quickly and conveniently. The St. Petersburg Election Commission, 64 territorial and 1,947 precinct election commissions are involved in organizing and conducting elections of the President of the Russian Federation. Additionally, 47 polling stations were organized in medical institutions, at the Moscow and Ladozhsky railway stations, at Pulkovo airport, and one polling station at the “Center for Registration and Social Services for Citizens of the Russian Federation without a fixed place of residence.” Sites have been created on three scientific expedition vessels and seven polar stations. You can find out the number and address of your site on the State Services portal.

The Russian presidential elections in 2024 will last for three days, from March 15 to 17 from 8:00 to 20:00.
