The RN-Vankor company (an enterprise of the oil production complex of NK Rosneft), as part of the implementation of the Vostok Oil project, began construction of an oil berth at the Port Bay Sever terminal in the Yenisei Gulf of the Kara Sea.

At this stage, RN-Vankor is dredging and strengthening the coastline with a length of 335 meters at one of the two oil berths. For the new berth under construction, about 400 large-sized piles with a diameter of over 2.5 meters and a total weight of more than 100 thousand tons will have to be manufactured.

For this purpose, one of the most powerful fleets of large-tonnage machines in the country with a total lifting capacity of over 8 thousand tons, including 16 specialized cranes, was delivered to Sever Bay along the Northern Sea Route. Four cranes with a lifting capacity of 400 to 1.25 thousand tons will be involved in loading the piles from land. From the sea side, after the ice melts, two more large-capacity cranes with a lifting capacity of 1.6 thousand tons, installed on the Krasnoyarsk and Dixon barges, will be used. This unique technology for driving piles in water areas was tested by port builders in the Ob Bay of the Kara Sea.

The project involves the construction of a whole complex of berthing facilities, which includes two oil tankers, two cargo berths and a berth for the port fleet with a total length of almost 1.3 km. It is also planned to build infrastructure facilities for the Bay of North port, including an administrative building, a checkpoint, mechanical repair shops, storage facilities for materials and equipment, transformer substations and other structures.

The oil terminal is an important facility of the new seaport “Sever Bay”, designed to ensure the transshipment of oil from the Vostok Oil fields for transportation along the Northern Sea Route to world ports.
