A solemn ceremony of signing a cooperation agreement between SPbPU and RKS-Energo LLC took place at the Polytechnic University. This is an energy sales company that performs the functions of the largest guaranteeing supplier of electricity in the Leningrad region. The parties agreed to train qualified personnel within the framework of industry educational programs, namely for the energy sector of the economy. And also about conducting joint events and practical research and introducing the company’s high-tech innovative products into the educational process.

The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for Educational Activities of SPbPU Lyudmila Pankova, emphasizing the importance of the signed agreement for university students: In the context of a personnel shortage of young qualified specialists for the real sector of the economy, we understand that it is extremely important to systematically implement practice-oriented education and seamless employment with planned access to the market for our graduates. For a university, a valuable component of educational programs is that the enterprise is included at the stage of preparing students during the learning process itself. Thus, the employer receives a ready-made specialist with the necessary professional competencies and practical skills, who then does not need to be further trained on the job.

The need to train specialized specialists in the energy industry was outlined by the General Director of RKS-Energo LLC, Bislan Gairabekov.

The shortage of personnel in specialists and mid-level managers, as well as in qualified workers who have the necessary knowledge to work at an enterprise or in highly specialized areas, suggests that holding such events will increase the importance of professions in the energy sector at the level of higher and secondary specialized education. “I hope that the signing of the agreement marked the beginning of our close cooperation and the creation of joint projects for the targeted training and further employment of young specialists in the energy sector,” emphasized Bislan Isanovich.

A significant event for both the Polytechnic University and RKS-Energo was the transfer of an educational demonstration stand for an intelligent electricity metering system. Cooperation with the company takes place within the framework of the development of educational programs in energy management, implemented by the Higher School of Industrial Management IPMEiT. Already today, in a specialized training class on Novorossiyskaya Street, students studying in the “Industrial Management in Energy” program can see remote shutdown and resumption of energy consumption during practical classes in real time. And also understand how the electricity metering system is managed.

The RKS-Energo company, within the framework of the signed agreement, is ready to involve its managers in conducting lectures, master classes and case reviews on the energy industry.

The practical component is important for preparing our students. Working on this simulator makes it possible to practice theoretical knowledge acquired during lectures. For managers in the energy industry who are trained by our institute, the main aspect is the competent combination of economic-managerial and industry-specific technical training,” commented the director of IPMEiT Vladimir Shchepinin on the introduction of the demonstration stand into the educational process.
