Business investments in the tourism industry at the end of last year amounted to more than 800 billion rubles, which is a third higher than in 2022. This result was largely possible thanks to support measures provided within the framework of national projects, said Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov at a meeting with the President on the creation of federal year-round seaside resorts.

“Investment activity is growing. Business has invested more than 800 billion rubles in the industry. A third more than in 2022. 12.5 thousand new numbers were introduced, growth over the year was plus 10%,” said Maxim Reshetnikov.

The minister noted that the increase in room capacity today is largely due to measures to support the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry,” curated by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko. For example, thanks to the President’s decision to allocate an additional 11 billion rubles under the program to subsidize the construction of modular hotels, the coverage of support was increased. This program has already supported 18 thousand numbers in 66 regions of the country. Of these, 4.5 thousand have been introduced, the remaining will be introduced by the end of the year.

In addition, the hotel business receives support under the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises”, which is supervised by First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov. In 2023, thanks to preferential lending and umbrella guarantees from the SME Corporation, entrepreneurs attracted more than 24 billion rubles in loan funds, which is almost twice as much as in 2022.

In his Address to the Federal Assembly, President Vladimir Putin outlined the goal: by 2030, to almost double the number of tourist trips in the country, to 140 million. In 2023, 78 million tourist trips were made in Russia, which is 21% more than in 2022.
