The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Association of Energy Saving Centers “RACES” signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of energy saving and increasing energy efficiency.

The purpose of the agreement is to develop long-term cooperation for the implementation of effective government policy on energy saving and increasing energy efficiency. The signed agreement will contribute to solving problems within the framework of the Strategy for the socio-economic development of Russia with low greenhouse gas emissions until 2050.

The document provides for joint work on innovations in the field of energy saving and increasing energy efficiency, stimulating development and active use of Russian energy-saving technologies. The parties agreed on a partnership in the field of improving the system of training and advanced training of personnel, as well as in the field of popularizing energy saving among the population.

“Public policy in the field of energy efficiency is becoming a key tool for influencing climate change and for implementing the Low-Carbon Development Strategy. Already 62 constituent entities of Russia have adopted a regional program for energy saving and increasing energy efficiency. In 2023, a new comprehensive state program “Energy Saving and Increasing Energy Efficiency” was approved, and program activities are being developed and approved. We believe that cooperation with RACES will contribute to achieving national goals in the field of energy saving,” noted Irina Petrunina, Director of the Department of Competition, Energy Efficiency and Environment of the Ministry of Economic Development.

“This agreement is an important step in the development of the institution of regional energy saving centers and the implementation of state policy to increase energy efficiency at the regional and municipal levels,” said Tatyana Sokolova, General Director of the RACES Association of Energy Saving Centers. “In addition, it will allow us to systematize the work of collecting and analyzing information about the best regional initiatives and practices, and assess the possibility of scaling them throughout the country.”
